Our Team

Meet the extraordinary team at Hugs, Pugs, and Pawsitivity. A trailblazer in both academics and paw-ssibilities! We value perseverance, charm, snuggles, and the belief that every challenge can be conquered with a wagging tail and a heart full of pawsitivity.

Our History

Hugs, Pugs, and Pawsitivity is a project that took root during my grad school days. Back then, I was leading 15 – 20 hours of mental health groups weekly for teens. Eager to stay on the ball with the latest trends and research, I dedicated hours to prowling the town, exploring new spots, and crafting my own mental health content. Originally, I named this project "Walking with Purpose," but it has since transformed into this tail-wagging project. Hugs, Pugs, and Pawsitivity is the pawfect mix of joy and cleverness, giving me a sturdy foundation to share my mental health expertise with those seeking a deeper understanding. Many pals have guided me along life's journey, each playing a crucial role in shaping the fur-tastic version of me. I'm committed to ensuring their impact on me continues, allowing me to influence others with a paw-sitive vibe.

About Me

20231003_175556_edited_edited.jpg

Greetings, I'm Adisson Roylance and this is my pug Chewey. I hold a license as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor - Supervisor (LCPC-S) in the state of Idaho. Over the span of 7 years, I have accumulated valuable clinical expertise through my work in various mental health establishments, educational institutions, and within the Department of Juvenile Corrections.

My experience includes the facilitation of more than 2,500 hours of group psychotherapy sessions and over 3,500 hours of individual counseling sessions with 1,000s of adolescents, young adults, and individuals in recovery-oriented settings. In conjunction with my counseling responsibilities, I have successfully conducted over 300 suicide assessments, screenings, and individualized safety plans.

My professional focus is particularly strong in Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed counseling, and substance abuse counseling.

Additionally, I've played a pivotal role in developing a comprehensive 5-week mental health curriculum, delivering over 160 hours of group therapy content. This curriculum has been instrumental in community programs, including Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) settings.
